Note: This is an update to a previous post. The roadworks are now scheduled for Monday 28 November.
He pānui nā Tauranga City Council:
On Monday 28thNovember 2022, work will start to complete work along Te Puke Highway between Poplar Lane and Welcome Bay Road.
These works will include remedial works and resurfacing and a portion of the 2nd coat of seal. The start of these works is dependent on a window of fine weather, so may have a delayed start date.
This work will require a lane closure from 5am Monday 28th November, and is expected to take 2 weeks (weather dependent). The road closure is required due to a narrow section in the road and shoulder, which cannot accommodate the work to be completed safely while keeping two lanes of traffic open.
While the lane closure is in place, traffic heading towards Te Puke from Tauranga/Papamoa will be diverted along the Tara Road, Parton Road, Bell Road route. VMS boards will be displayed advising of the upcoming diversion dates.
Traffic travelling from Te Puke towards Tauranga will continue as normal, with speed restrictions in place.
We appreciate your continued patience with these road works, we understand this can be trying however hope that you can see this work is essential to improve the road surface. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes you.
