E ngā mana, e ngā reo, e ngā karangatanga maha, tēnā koutou katoa.
Te Maru o Kaituna River Authority has been developing an action plan to ‘give life’ to Kaituna he taonga tuku iho - the Kaituna River Document which took legal effect on 1 August last year.
Our draft Action Plan - Te Tini a Tuna outlines priority actions over the next ten years to deliver on our agreed vision, objectives and desired outcomes, with the intention of improving the health, well-being and mauri of the Kaituna River and its tributaries.
We are now seeking feedback on the draft before it is finalised at Te Maru o Kaituna River Authority’s 27 September meeting. We invite anyone that is interested to come along to one of our drop-in sessions:
Wed 21 August 9am–12pm - Te Puke Library Board Room: 130 Jellicoe Street Te Puke.
Wed 21 August 6-8pm - Taheke Marae: 119 Okere Road, Ōkere Falls.
Thurs 22 August 1-3pm - Maketū Fire Station: 668 Wilson Road North, Maketū.
Alternatively you can use our online survey or email info@kaituna.org.nz to give your feedback by 26 August. See www.kaituna.org.nz for more information.
This Action Plan - Te tini o Tuna will help to bring all groups with an interest in the well-being of our Kaituna River together; to improve and sustain its life force. We look forward to being able to support and build on work to date, through implementation of the priority projects within the Action Plan.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Dean Flavell, Te Maru O Kaituna River Authority Chairman
